Rapid Prototyping Machines from HK
HK Rapid Prototyping are an industry recognised prototyping machine and 3D printer supplier with many years’ experience. We are trusted suppliers, installers and supporters of rapid prototyping machines. We only supply the very best machines from industry leaders Stratasys and Arcam. We were chosen as Stratasys European partner 2010 due to our excellent standards and reliability. We also received an award in 2009 for being the best performing distributor of Stratasys printers.
We pride ourselves on working closely with all of our customers, specifying the correct build platform, printing technology and materials to help you realise your rapid prototyping needs both now and in the future.
Stratasys Printers - HK is the UK's foremost supplier of Stratasys rapid prototyping machines and services with 10 years knowledge and experience to call upon. We offer the full range of Stratasys 3D printers from the entry level Stratasys 24 & Stratasys 30 Desktop system through to the Connex 350 and Connex 500 family of multi-material rapid prototyping machines, suited to the most demanding jobs.
We also offer RP machines from Arcam. Founded in 1997 Arcam provide a unique additive layer manufacturing technology for the production of fully dense metal parts. Gaining acceptance for critical components in the medical implant and aerospace industries, Arcam's unique EBM (Electron Beam Melting) and Multi-beam technology creates parts quickly, with first-class material properties both mechanically and chemically.
A Guide to Rapid Prototyping
Rapid Prototyping is the wider term for the process that involves three dimensional printing. Because 3D printing is integral to the process the two have become synonymous. Consequently the printers used have come to be called rapid prototyping machines by many. The rapid part of the name derives from the speed at which prototypes can be produced. Once your design is ready, detailed objects can be printed in only a few hours.
The Printing Process
Once the computer aided design is ready the model can be created using a prototyping machine. The machine effectively slices the design up into layers, it then prints these layers starting from the bottom. As the layers gradually build up a complete object is formed. The layers are extremely thin, down to just a few microns. This bottom up, layer by layer approach, means that ultra-complex objects can be created with ease. What's more, all this only takes a few hours.

Who uses it?
Because of its versatility rapid prototyping is used by a massive range of industries. The aerospace, defence, medical and automotive industries all take advantage of RP technology. It is also used widely for research and in education. Rapid prototyping machines are used by the World’s leading universities as they are vital not only for research, but also for enhancing the learning experience. Industrial design relies heavily on the RP tech as it allows designers to take their ideas from the page to reality in a few short hours. As rapid prototyping machines have become more affordable and the technology has advanced, more and more people are using them.
If you would like some advice as to which of our rapid prototyping machines would be best for you please get in touch. We will be more than happy to answer your questions.
